Teacher Wanted To Show Children Why Wash Hands Important

Teachers give children knowledge and sometimes do it so effectively that the result makes many think. An American teacher, Jaraly Ennis Metcalf, was able to achieve such a reaction with the help of one simple scientific project, which she implemented with elementary school students when another flu epidemic began. Jarali decided to show the children why washing their hands with soap is so important. Let’s see 5 study wash hands

At Be Best Friends we believe that such a significant experiment should be seen by as many people as possible, therefore we share its results with you.

Jarali wanted to show the children how important it is to observe good hygiene. For this, the teacher put 5 slices of bread cut from one loaf in bags for raw meat, because they can be tightly closed. Because of the preservatives in the bread, the experiment took longer than expected: 3-4 weeks. Nobody touched one piece; three children touched each of the class in turn. 1 more slice left.

All the laptops in the classroom were wiped with this bread.

After the completion of the project, the school management decided to regularly disinfect the computers used by the children during class.

It looked like at the end of the experiment a control chunk that no one touched. He was simply transferred from the packaging with the rest of the bread into a separate bag.

This piece was touched with unwashed hands.

Before touching the 5th piece, students treated their hands with an antibacterial

Obviously, antibacterial agents cannot be considered a worthy replacement for soap. They can be used only as a last resort.

Conclusions from the experiment were made not only by adults who began to pay more attention to the cleanliness of gadgets, but also by children who were clearly shown why it is important to wash their hands with soap often. This precaution is especially relevant now, when it is easy to get infected, for example, flu.

Those interested can independently find out how clean their hands are, according to this instruction. We believe that such scientific experience should be carried out even in kindergartens. And which experiment did you most remember when you were in school?
